How to Secure a wifi Connection

  • Select Strong Encryption Method:- Now WEP and WAP encryption methods are no more secured. They can be easily cracked with some tools. Check that if your router support WAP2 encryption then enable it. If it doesn’t support then I recommend to choose a new router.
  • Change Default Service Set Identifier (SSID):- Your WiFi network SSID is the name of your network. Your WiFi network is identified by this name. If you keep it default. Hacker’s can guess it. Change it and keep something unique.
  • Choose Strong Password:- Choose a strong password for your WiFi router. A strong password is important than selecting strong encryption. Because if you didn’t choose a strong password then it can be easily cracked. So it is highly recommended that you choose a password which is mixed with lower, upper case, special characters, and numbers.
  • Disable Log in to Router on WiFi :- We can disable log in to router on wireless. If you enable this option you can not log in to your router on WiFi . You will have to connect via LAN cable to log in. It decreases chances of getting hacked.
These are the best way to secure a wifi connection.
